BEING A TEAM PARENT...

Each team is different, but here are common Team Parent duties:
  • Make a duty roster for the parents to bring snacks for each game. One parent can bring cooled orange slices for the halftime break and another parent can provide snacks and drinks for after the game. Snacks and drinks may be further split between two parents. Parents may need a reminder call or email a few days prior to their turn.
  • Assist coach with contacting parents in the event of schedule changes or cancellations.
  • Distribute practice and game schedules (these were distributed to coaches at the Coaches' Meeting and are available on the website).
  • Coordinate forms, location, times, etc. for team pictures (Photo date and schedule will be available on the website).
  • Coordinate a team appreciation gift* for the coaches at the end of the season.
  • Organize the end of season team party--which must be held at locations other than Glencliff Park and the Westchase Recreation Center.  (The MiniWee Season ends one week prior to the older age groups; therefore, games will still be played at Glencliff Park the Saturday following the end of the MiniWee season so do not schedule team parties at Glencliff).

*Except for the Player Development Officer who runs the MiniWee program, coaches and assistants are all volunteers.  Gifts for the coaches are completely voluntary, but keep in mind that the coaches are volunteers who contribute a great deal of time from their busy schedules for the benefit of the players.
